During a 2 week residency at the Triskel Arts Centre Cork, and in collaboration with Meitheal Mara (Currach Builders), the women from our Equality for Women Measure group at Mayfield Community Arts Centre learned to weave Coracles (traditional river currachs from the Boyne river) from willow and hazel. They also painted the canvas to cover the large coracle and made miniature coracles and we launched the boats in the River Lee amidst lots of proud smiles and laughter.
